Big Sleepout

Friday 26 March

Edinburgh City Centre

10pm – 7am (Saturday 27th)

So what exactly is the Big Sleepout?
Simple, it’s a homelessness fundraising event.

Here’s how it works… You give up your bed for the night and come and sleep out under the stars (or cardboard) at our central location. The money you raise when friends and family sponsor you for the night makes it possible for Bethany to offer practical help to homeless people to help them overcome the challenges in their lives and become more settled. I won’t lie to you, it’s a challenging event but a very rewarding one.

To find out more, please read the information sheet

Downloadable Publicity A4 Poster, Double-sided A6 flyer, Powerpoint slide

If you want to take part you must register by letting us know your name, address, date of birth and contact phone number by email or you can drop us a txt with your details to 07971 268955.
You can download a sponsor form here (or we can email you one) or to make things easier just set up a Justgiving sponsor page for online donations at: www.justgiving.com

It’s much less hassle! If you can’t take part this year but would like to support the event, we would be delighted if you would donate on our Big Sleepout fundraising page here: http://www.justgiving.com/BethanyBigSleepout2010

Bethany Sportive

Saturday 5 June

Come and join Bethany’s Sportive event – a non-competitive charity fundraising event.

Now in its second year this exciting event for serious amateurs involves a cycle of around 111 miles with 8000 feet of climb.111 mile route*

A shorter route of around 72 miles is also on offer for those who would not be able to complete the longer stretch within 8 hours or less.72 mile route*

Riders leave from Lasswade High School, Bonnyrigg and head south over the Moorfoot Hills to Innerleithen where the long and shorter routes split. The long route now takes a spectacularly scenic route around the Borders and both routes meet again just west of Selkirk. For the shorter route, riders return to Lasswade from Innerleithen via the River Tweed and Gala Water valleys. Both routes then return to the High School over the Moorfoot Hills once more. Each participant will be individually timed and the finishing times will be published on the Bethany website after the event. Three well stocked feed stations will also be on hand offering the riders refreshments along the way.

Entries are limited to 400 with an entry fee of £30 per entrant. Please sign up quickly to ensure your spaces.
